Information for Parents

The Illinois ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) program helps individuals with disabilities and their families save and invest money for disability-related expenses without affecting certain federal benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid. Funds in an IL ABLE account can be used for qualified expenses, including education, housing, transportation, health care, assistive technology, and more. Eligible individuals whose disability began before age 46 may qualify to open an account. To learn more about eligibility, benefits, and enrollment, please visit the official Illinois ABLE website.
